Key structural observations
- Innā anzalnāhu affirms Allah’s act; hu refers to the Qur’an without naming it explicitly. The gift precedes any mention of human reception (1).
- Laylat al-Qadr returns in three successive verses: time of the sending down, subject of the question, then a night better than a thousand months (1–3).
- Anzalnāhu and tanazzalu share N-Z-L with distinct subjects: Allah sends down the Qur’an; the angels and the Spirit descend within the night (1, 4).
- Their Lord’s permission governs the descent; min kulli amr widens the scene. The human addressed by mā adrāka learns what Allah reveals about the night (2, 4).
- Salāmun precedes hiya and gives the night its final description, until dawn. The five endings in rāʾ join name, duration, matter and temporal boundary (1–5).
