Surah 050

Key structural observations
- The glorious Quran opens the surah and reminding through the Quran closes it (1, 45). Within this frame, human speech is recorded, the divine word stands, and the Prophet receives patience and a mission. Complete knowledge belongs to Allah; reminding does not mean compelling.
- The return dismissed as improbable is answered through divine knowledge and the preserving Book (3–4). The earth diminishes bodies, bears life renewed by rain, then splits over the resurrected (4, 7–11, 44). Disappearance from our gaze removes nothing from the Creator.
- Signs reach the returning servant, the promise welcomes a returning heart, and the reminder calls for attentive listening (8, 33, 37). The nearness of divine knowledge and the recording of speech precede judgement’s unveiling (16–22). Returning today prepares for the announced meeting.
- The appearance distinguishes driver, witness and companion, then obstinate refusal, the evil companion’s defence and judgement without injustice (21–29). Reported words retain their speakers. Hell asks for more; the Garden is brought near and Allah promises an increase (30–35).
- The first creation, freedom from weariness and easy gathering answer doubt about resurrection (15, 38, 44). Patience, praise and prostration give a response within present hours (39–40). Willing listening to the reminder precedes the cry all will hear on the Day of emergence (37, 41–45).
