Surah 099

Az-Zalzala

الزلزلة

8 verses · Medinan

Key structural observations
  • The surah is structured around a reversal of silence: the earth is not neutral ground but a recording medium whose testimony is deferred, not absent.
  • Its movement turns hidden action into stored imprint: the silence beneath the feet is presented as archive rather than cover.
  • The surah's decisive law is that great burdens are built from atoms: what seems negligible accumulates into speaking weight.
