Key structural observations
- Qul aʿūdhu introduces refuge before danger. Three designations of the same Lord occupy the first three verses: Rabb, Malik and Ilāh.
- An-nās occurs five times: with mankind’s Lord, King and God, then in their breasts, finally among possible sources of whispering (1–3, 5–6).
- Al-waswās is described as al-khannās, then specified by alladhī yuwaswisu. The noun and verb of whispering share the same root; the present conveys potentially recurring activity (4–5).
- Fī ṣudūri n-nās names the place of whispering; mina l-jinnati wa-n-nās indicates its sources in this reading. Place of reception and origin are distinguished (5–6).
- The muṣḥaf’s final surah and word keep the reader among people who need protection and must watch their influence on others.
