Key structural observations
- The five oaths lead to the reminder establishing the proof or warning, then to the promise’s certainty (1–7). Cosmic upheavals and the messengers’ appointment lead to the question of the term, the name of the Day of Separation and the first warning (8–15).
- Three questions recall earlier peoples and those following, human origin and its measure, then the earth containing living and dead, mountains and sweet water (16–28). Each sequence receives the same warning.
- The command to advance transforms the object of denial into a destination (29–30). Shade without protection and immense sparks are followed by silence and forbidden excuse (31–37). The Day becomes present within gathering and the challenge to stratagem (38–40).
- Shades, springs and fruits welcome the God-fearing; eating and drinking with enjoyment answers their deeds, and they are named doers of good (41–44). The refrain returns, then the same command to eat becomes a warning limited to brief enjoyment (45–47).
- Refusal to bow precedes the tenth warning (48–49). The last question asks in what word they will believe after this (50). The reminder given at the beginning thus finds its answer in the final call to faith.
