Surah 109

Al-Kāfirūn

الكافرون

6 verses · Meccan

Key structural observations
  • The surah is structured as a system of four locks: it does not merely negate compromise, it seals the sanctuary of worship against present mixing, false equivalence, inherited continuity, and imagined future overlap.
  • Its repeated negations are therefore not redundancy but anti-dilution architecture: the text closes every small window through which tawḥīd might be softened in the name of peace or practicality.
  • The final line does not relativise truth; it establishes peace through clarity: the house remains open to conduct, but the source of worship remains unshared.
