Key structural observations
- Oaths concerning time lead to the question of ḥijr, restraining reason, then to the fate of ʿĀd, Thamūd and Pharaoh (1–14).
- Two occurrences of ammā and ibtalāhu describe ease and restriction as trials. The gift is truly named honour; humiliation is the human interpretation of want (15–16).
- The first kallā returns to deeds: honour denied to the orphan, absent encouragement to feed the poor, devoured inheritance and overwhelming love of wealth (17–20).
- The second kallā opens judgement: crushed earth, the Lord’s coming, ordered angels, Hell brought, late remembrance and regret for not preparing for one’s life (21–26).
- The tranquil soul receives the call to return, pleased and accepted, then two invitations to enter among Allah’s servants and into His Garden (27–30).
