Surah 101

Al-Qāriʿa

القارعة

11 verses · Meccan

Key structural observations
  • The surah is structured around a violent revaluation of weight: what the self wants to lighten may be precisely what saves it.
  • Its central contrast is between stabilising interior mass and a lightness that feels like freedom but ends in collapse.
  • The surah therefore makes salvation depend not on outward ease but on what still carries real weight when all scales are exposed.
